Reopening Ontario Act charge laid at Old Colony Mennonite Church in Charing Cross

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a gathering at the Old Colony Mennonite Church on Cundle Line in Charing Cross.

When the officer arrived, he observed approximately 50 cars in the parking lot.

Upon completion of the church service, several people were observed leaving the church.

A member of the church, a 37-year-old Raleigh Township man was charged with failing to comply with a continued 7.0.2 order as per Ontario Regulation 364/20, of the Reopening Ontario Act, 2020, section 10(1).

He will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court on August 18, 2021.
