Police: Impaired driving, assaulting an officer, warrants arrests

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police received information a man wanted on a surety relief warrant was in the parking lot of St. Clair College in Chatham.

Police located the male and placed him under arrest.

A 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and immediately escorted back to the South West Detention Centre.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, while on general patrol, police spotted a female walking on Sixth Street in Chatham.

The female was known to police and police checks revealed she was wanted on two separate warrants by the Chatham-Kent Police Service for failing to attend court.

The 26-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she has been held for bail.

Suspicious person charged with break and enter along with assaulting a peace officer

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police received a call of a male party with a large air compressor on Grand Avenue in Chatham.

Police located the male and discovered the air compressor was taken from a local business nearby.

The male was then arrested and taken to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters.

While being booked into custody, the male spat on an officer.

A 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with break enter and theft, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and assaulting a peace officer.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Impaired driver charged

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, police received reports of a vehicle all over the roadway on Talbot Trail in Blenheim.

Police located the vehicle and a road side test was administered on the driver.

The driver failed and was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance.

While at police headquarters the male blew close to twice the legal limit.

A 20-year-old Kingsville man was charged with operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He was released pending a future court date.
