COVID-19 outbreak declared over at CKHA

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the COVID-19 outbreak declared on the Medicine Unit at the Chatham site on May 11, 2021 has been declared over by Chatham-Kent Public Health (CKPH).

“CKHA would like to thank CKPH for their guidance and support during this outbreak, and the hospital’s staff and physicians for their continued commitment to providing safe, high quality care under these difficult circumstances,” hospital officials said in a media release on Thursday, June 3, 2021.

“Infection prevention and control measures will remain in place across the organization and CKHA will continue to review and monitor the impact of the pandemic on its operations. Visitor restrictions will remain in place and only essential care partners are permitted for inpatients at this time; please see CKHA’s website for further details on essential care partners.”

Questions or concerns about visitor restrictions can be directed to the primary nurse and/or patient relations, hospital officials say.
