Edna Carter of Wallaceburg

Mrs. Edna “Winnifred” Carter, “Winnie” a long time resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the age of 100.

Winnifred was the only child of the late James and Gertrude (Goodfellow) Dever.

Beloved wife of the late Tom Carter (1999).

Loving mother of Jim (Sue) Carter of Windsor, the late Mary Carter (2020) and Anne (Kirby) McDonald of Simcoe.

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Mike, Kathy, Dana, Reed, Scott, and her great grandson Nathan.

Also missed by her special and caring friend Linda.

She was a long time member of Jehovah Witness where she was surrounded by many friends who were always there for her.

Our Mom had an appreciation for all things beautiful in the world and as a gifted artist, painted much of that beauty. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking and made the best butter tarts ever?

A very special thank you to the incredible staff of Wallaceburg Retirement Residence for their outstanding care, keeping her and everyone safe during the Covid crisis. All of the staff extended much love and kindness to Mom during her 3 year stay.

The late Winnifred Carter rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.

Following her wishes, cremation will take place.
