The board of directors for the Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) have decided to defer their decision on their 2021 community event, normally held the second weekend in August.
Bill Wolsing, the chair of WAMBO, said the board is currently in a holding pattern.
“With details about Stage 3 of Ontario’s Reopening Plan still unknown, our board felt it was best to defer any decisions for 2021,” Wolsing said, in a media release.
“We’re optimistic and hopeful, but we’re unable to confirm any details at this time.”
The board is also exploring a variety of options for WAMBO-style, COVID-19 friendly events for this year, which would be pending government approval, WAMBO officials say.
One event that is confirmed is the second annual WAMBO Golf Classic, scheduled for September 25, 2021 at Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club.

Any future updates will be posted on the WAMBO Facebook Page, organizers say.
The WAMBO committee cancelled their 2020 event due to COVID-19, which snapped a streak of 31 straight years being held in the community of Wallaceburg.
