Ontario Women’s Driving Championship finale on Sunday at Dresden Raceway

Sunday’s card of racing at Dresden Raceway will feature the finale of the Ontario Women’s Driving Championship, sponsored by The Ontario, Lottery and Gaming Corp.

The first leg of the competition will take place at Hanover Raceway on Saturday, July 17 and the winner will be crowed at Dresden Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

The “Elite Eight” of the female drivers in Ontario include Natasha Day, Andrea Leon, Brttany Kennedy, Marie Claude Auger, Maggie Jones, Julie Walker, Pam Forgie and Marielle Enberg.

“Dresden Raceway is so excited to be part of such an amazing event in partnership with Hanover Raceway,” said Dresden announcer Gary Patterson, in a media release.

“The women who are taking part are such an inspiration with their enthusiasm, skill and ability. It’s amazing to have OLG as the title sponsor of this event as they see the importance of showing all the young girls out their that if they follow their dreams they could also be taking centre stage in whatever they choose to do.”

The drivers are donating their earnings for the day to Harness The Hope in support of the fight against breast cancer.

Dresden will also be featuring two divisions of O.S.S. Prospect Series Three-Year-Old pacing Fillies on Sunday.
