CKHA Foundation golf tournament raises record $154,647

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation says its 21st annual Charity Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking $154,647 in net proceeds to support local hospital care.

The sold-out event was held June 5 at Maple City Country Club and drew 152 golfers, more than 40 volunteers and over 35 sponsors.

“This year’s tournament once again exceeded our expectations,” said Christine Mitchell, president and CEO of the foundation. “To surpass last year’s record-breaking total and raise more than $154,000 through a single-day event is truly remarkable. The continued growth and success of this tournament speak volumes about the generosity of our community and the incredible commitment so many individuals and organizations have to supporting exceptional healthcare close to home.”

The tournament’s online auction generated an additional $14,682 through the sale of more than 75 donated items.

The winning team was from MD Financial Management, with Jer Grubb, Michelle Brisebois, Kristine Greenfield and Matt Carleton posting a score of 13-under par.

Proceeds will support the highest-priority needs at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, including equipment, technology and facility improvements at the Chatham and Wallaceburg hospital sites.

“Our hospital’s needs are constantly evolving, and community events like this allow us to respond quickly and strategically to those needs,” Mitchell said. “We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and donors whose support continues to elevate this tournament year after year. Together, we are helping ensure that patients and families throughout Chatham-Kent continue to receive exceptional care close to home.”
