No Plan Intended sets new track record at Dresden Raceway

No Plan Intended set a new track record at Dresden Raceway on Monday afternoon pacing the local oval in 1:53.4 for driver Marc St Louis.

The Up The Credit gelding won the first division of Grassroots Series Ontario Sires Stakes three-year-old colts and geldings in fractions of 27.3, 56.1, and 1:24.4.

“I knew I was close to the record so I asked him a little down the lane even though I had a good lead,” St Louis said, in a media release.

“He did all the work once he got to the front. He is a very nice horse.”

Carl Jamieson and Brian Paquet are the owners of No Plan Intended while Jamieson is the trainer.

The previous mark was set in 2005 as on the same day Must Be Matt and Caviarandsoftmusic were both clocked in 1:54.1.

Dr Joe and Austin Sorrie were second while Travis Henry guided Imabeachboy to a third place finish.

Harpers Hat Trick was the winner of the second division of O.S.S. colts and geldings for driver Travis Henry.

The Sportswriter colt went wire-to-wire in 28.2, 59.2, 1:28 for a mile time of 1:56.1.

Harpers Hat Trick is co-owned by Kris Haskell and Grant Shelton while Haskell is the conditioner.

Sorrie was the runner again with Last Bet and Premier Nacho and Paul MacKenzie paid the show price.

Proline and Anthony Haughan also used front end speed to capture the third division of Ontario Sired sophomore colts and geldings after pacing in 28.1, 57.1, 1:26.2 for a mile time of 1:55.1.

Determination from Montreal has the ownership papers while Luc Blaid is the trainer of the Sportswriter colt.

Flash Cube and Guy Gagnon was second while Henry and Mr Charisma got up for third.

St Louis won both divisions of O.S.S. Prospect Series for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings.

He scored in the first divison with Big Teddy in 1:56.4.

The Big Jim gelding is owned by Blueshoe Investments and trained by Tyler Nostadt.

St Louis hit the winner’s circle in the second Prospect Series race with Pretty Boy Duke for owner Glenview Livestock of Wallenstein and trainer Lacey McCabe.

The Sunshine Beach colt paced in 1:58.4. Scott Wray scored two wins today to outdueld Garrett Rooney for the driver’s title as he ended up with 18 wins on the year and Rooney had 16 while Tyler Nostadt also had two training wins to vault past Donnie Rankin Jr. for the training title with eight victories on the season.

The handle at Dresden Raceway was $51,384 of which just over $20,000 was bet on track.
