Police: B&E, assault, disturbance, speeding tickets issued

Break and Enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, August 5, 2021 police were dispatched to an address on Merlin Road in Merlin, in response to a call of a break and enter.

Through investigation it was determined that sometime between the hours 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on August 4, 2021, unknown suspects entered the residence and stole jewellery and clothing.

Investigation is ongoing.

Assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, August 5, 2021 a 28-year-old male was arrested following an incident at the Super 8 motel on Michener Road in Chatham.

The male was accused of assaulting a female staff member.

Disturbance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m. police received multiple calls for a male party running into traffic, causing a disturbance.

A 24-year-old Chatham man was located and transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for suspected drug use.

Traffic Enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road.

Six motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind everyone that speeding kills.
