Active COVID-19 case count at 58, eight hospitalized, vaccine clinics available in C-K

Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated their ‘current status’ page of their website on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Public health officials say a total of 136,990 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 72,892 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 66,733 people 12+ have received two doses.

CK Public Health officials say the following vaccine clinic options are available:

Wednesday, September 1

– Chatham-Kent Health Alliance 2-8 p.m.

(walk-ins up till 7:30 p.m., booked appointments at GetYourShotCK.ca, Pfizer)

Thursday, September 2

– KSR International in Ridgetown 2-7 p.m.

(walk-ins up till 6:30 p.m., booked appointments at GetYourShotCK.ca, Pfizer)

The active COVID-19 case count sits at 58, seven more than on Tuesday.

A total of eight people with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent remain hospitalized.

The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,045 across Chatham-Kent, 14 more than on Tuesday.

A total of 1,970 cases have been resolved.

A total of 24 cases are linked to close contact, 14 cases have information pending, 12 cases are unknown, seven cases are outbreak related and one case is linked to travel.

CK Public Health officials say a community outbreak at an un-named congregate living setting remains active.

This outbreak includes eight cases in total and was first declared on August 25, 2021.

CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.

“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.

A total of 126,049 tests for the virus have been completed to date.

Since the pandemic began last March, a total of 17 people from Chatham-Kent have died from COVID-19.
