An investigation has been launched after an apartment fire at 32 Thomas Avenue in Wallaceburg.
“Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening fire crews from Station #3 – Wallaceburg, Station #2 – Chatham and Wallaceburg Volunteer Firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Thomas Avenue in Wallaceburg,” fire officials said in a media release.
“Fire crews rescued one male occupant from the apartment who was transported to hospital in serious condition.”
Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services officials say officials with the Office of the Fire Marshal will be attending the scene to assist with the investigation.
“No other details will be release while the investigation is ongoing,” fire officials added.
The cause of the blaze is still under investogation.
No damage estimate has been provided.
