4.5 times the legal limit

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 4, 2021 in the early morning a Chatham-Kent Police Officer had conducted a routine traffic stop in Chatham.

While stopped with the emergency lights activated another driver turned onto their road and collided with the police cruiser causing minimal damage.

The 36 year man driving the vehicle was arrested for Impaired Operation and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide a breath sample.

The man registered breath samples almost 4.5x the legal limit.

The man was consequently charged with Driver Over 80.

The man was released with a future court date once sober.
