September is Terry Fox Month with the Virtual Run in Wallaceburg is taking place on Sunday, September 19, 2021.
Many school runs will be happening throughout the month as well.
Moira Eggett, who organizes the annual event in Wallaceburg, said her and her husband Brad have also decided to hold a Wallaceburg Terry Fox Run Online Raffle.
Moira said many prizes have been donated by local businesses, including:
– Wallaceburg Wellness Centre (gift basket +)
– Sugar Shack (three gift certificates)
– Tropical Tan (two gift certificates)
– New Vision Optical Centre (one Bolle non-RX sunglasses, one Maui Jim non-RX sunglasses, one Nautica non-RX sunglasses, one Bebe non-RX sunglasses, two gift certificates, two leather Calvin Klein tote bags, two men’s Calvin Klein bathroom bags, Elizabeth Arden makeup set and Terry Fox 2021 T-shirts)
– Black Goose (one gift certificate)
Moira said more will be added to the list as well.
Tickets are two for $5, five for $10 and 10 for $20.
Moira said tickets can be purchased online.
“Send your name and a phone number and an e-transfer to tfrunw@gmail.com,” she said.
The main draw will be held on Thursday, September 30, with the draw for the Terry Fox T-shirts occurring a few days before the run.
Moira said a plant sale is also being held on September 18, 2021 at 302 Sandra Crescent in Wallaceburg.
Terry Fox Run t-shirts of all sizes are also available for purchase at New Vision. Cost is $30 for dry fit and $20 for cotton.
Moira said all proceeds from each event will go toward the Wallaceburg Terry Fox Run.
