Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated their ‘current status’ page of their website on Friday, October 15, 2021.
The active COVID-19 case count sits at 68.
Public health officials say 73.4% of the active cases are unvaccinated, 13.9% are fully vaccinated, 7.7% are partially vaccinated, 2.9% are unknown and 1.8% are not yet protected. These figures are as of October 9, 2021, public health officials say.
A total of three people with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent are hospitalized.
The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,628 across Chatham-Kent, 10 more than on Thursday.
A total of 2,539 cases have been resolved.
A total of 39 active cases are linked to close contact, 16 cases are unknown, nine cases have information pending and four cases are outbreak related.
Public health officials say three outbreaks are active across Chatham-Kent:
– The outbreak at Kid’s Connection Daycare in Chatham remains active and involves two cases.
– The outbreak at St. Ursula Catholic School in Chatham remains actives and involves seven total cases.
– The outbreak at McNaughton Area Public School in Chatham remains active and involves seven total cases.
CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.
“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.
Public health officials say a total of 147,760 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 78,027 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 72,627 people 12+ have received two doses.

Since the pandemic began in March of 2020, a total of 21 Chatham-Kent residents have died from COVID-19.
