Wallaceburg baby delivered road-side by his Grandma in Thamesville

A Wallaceburg family welcomed a new baby boy into the world last week.

However, it wasn’t the type of delivery any of them expected.

Wallaceburg’s Jayne Dawe told the Sydenham Current she received a phone call from her daughter-in-law Nicklas Wood, who was going into labour.

Jayne said Nicklas asked her to drive her to London, which was the original plan, as she was a high risk pregnancy.

By the time they got to Thamesville, Nicklas’ water broke and the baby was on his way.

Jayne said she called 911, talked with dispatch and ended up delivering the baby herself.

Listen to the interview with the proud Grandma, here:

Baby Asher Allan Robert Dawe weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. when he was born.

Jayne’s son, Joshua Dawe, is Asher’s father.

Jayne says Asher and Nicklas are both doing well and are now resting at home.
