Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated the ‘current status’ page of their website on Friday, November 5, 2021.
The active COVID-19 case dropped to 38, a total of 10 fewer cases than on Thursday.
Public health officials say 72.7% of the active cases are unvaccinated, 14.6% are fully vaccinated, 7.1% are partially vaccinated, 3.3% are unknown and 2% are not yet protected. These figures are as of October 30, 2021, public health officials say.
One person with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent is hospitalized.
The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,777 across Chatham-Kent, one more than on Thursday.
A total of 2,716 cases have been resolved.
A total of 19 active cases are linked to close contact, 10 cases are unknown, four cases are outbreak related and two cases have information pending.
Public health officials say three outbreaks remain active across Chatham-Kent:
– An outbreak at Chatham Christian School, declared on October 30, 2021, involves two cases.
– An outbreak at Thamesville Area Central School, declared on October 30, 2021, involves two cases.
– An outbreak at an un-named workplace, declared on October 25, 2021, involves three cases.
CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.
“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.
Public health officials say a total of 152,063 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 79,642 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 75,736 people 12+ have received two doses.
Since the pandemic began in March of 2020, a total of 23 Chatham-Kent residents have died from COVID-19.
