CKCHC receives $20,000 Community Foundation grant

The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres (CKCHC) has received another grant from the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation (CKCF) in the amount of $20,000 that will directly benefit their marginalized populations through continued on-site clinic service, in-home and outreach service delivery during this pandemic and beyond.

CKCHC sites are located in Chatham, Wallaceburg and on Walpole Island First Nation including several outreach services across the Chatham-Kent community.

“CKCHC’s programs and services are focused on addressing the social determinants of health and are therefore carefully tailored to respond to the diverse needs of the many different clients and communities we serve,” CKCHC officials said in a media release.

“Knowing that a large proportion of our clients face economic challenges this grant will help address the following social determinants of health including but not limited to food insecurity; personal hygiene; environmental cleaning supplies; clothing needs; shoes; medication assistance; access to in-home medical devices (such as blood pressure monitors, etc.). By addressing these unmet social needs, CKCHC hopes to achieve better health outcomes and wellbeing for those we serve.”

The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres are non-profit, community governed, multi service health centres that provide primary health care, health promotion and community development services all under one roof.

The CKCHC is mandated to serve the vulnerable populations and the Chatham-Kent community at large.
