Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated the ‘current status’ page of their website on Friday, November 19, 2021.
The active COVID-19 case rose to 55, three more than on Thursday.
Public health officials say 73% of the active cases are unvaccinated, 16% are fully vaccinated, 7% are partially vaccinated, 3% are unknown and 2% are not yet protected. These figures are as of November 13, 2021, public health officials say.
Two people with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent are hospitalized.
The total number of COVID-19 cases is 2,876 across Chatham-Kent, eight more than on Thursday.
A total of 2,797 cases have been resolved.
A total of 23 active cases are linked to close contact, 15 cases are outbreak related, 12 cases are unknown and four cases have information pending.
Public health officials say seven outbreaks are active across Chatham-Kent:
– An outbreak at McNaughton Ave. Public School in Chatham, declared on November 18, 2021, involves two cases.
– An outbreak at St. Ursula Catholic School in Chatham, declared on November 18, 2021, involves three cases.
– An outbreak at Tilbury Manor Nursing Home, declared on November 17, 2021, involves two cases.
– An outbreak at Tecumseh Public School, declared on November 16, 2021, involves two cases.
– An outbreak at an un-named community setting, declared on November 15, 2021, involves 13 cases.
– An outbreak at Chatham Christian Elementary School, declared on November 13, 2021, involves five cases.
– An outbreak at Tilbury Area Public School, declared on November 13, 2021, involves three cases.
CK Public Health officials say the Delta variant continues to be the predominant circulating variant of concern in Chatham-Kent and Ontario.
“The majority of current cases among people living in CK have initial mutation screening results in line with the Delta variant,” public health officials added.
Public health officials say a total of 154,400 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 80,164 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 76,930 people 12+ have received two doses.
Since the pandemic began in March of 2020, a total of 24 Chatham-Kent residents have died from COVID-19.
