Fentanyl seized in Wallaceburg, four arrested for drug trafficking

Lambton County OPP officials allege: On December 9, 2021 at a.m., members of the Lambton County Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

A quantity of suspected Fentanyl was seized with a total value estimated at $5,000.

A 30-year-old Sarnia woman, a 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman, a 35-year-old Wallaceburg man and a 53-year-old Wallaceburg man, have been charged with the following: Possession of a Schedule I Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking.

The accused have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 26, 2022.

The search warrant is a result of investigations initiated due to the state of emergency declared by Walpole Island First Nation for the current drug epidemic.

Lambton County OPP continues to work in conjunction with Walpole Island Police Service to address the opioid-related crisis on Walpole Island.
