Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a theft complaint in Chatham.

The man stole a coat and a battery booster pack from a vehicle.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.

The 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft under $5.000.

He was released pending a future court date of January 18, 2022.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime in the early morning hours of December 24, unknown suspects smashed the rear bay door of a business on Richmond Street in Chatham with a rock.

Once inside, the suspects stole electronics and numerous keys.

The total value of the theft was estimated at $4,000.

Break and enter in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 24, unknown suspects entered a storage unit at a business on Allison Line in Blenheim.

Police are continuing to investigate to determine what property was stolen.

The total value of damage was approximately $3,000.
