Domestic disturbance leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wheatley.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the man assaulting his girlfriend.

The 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of February 16, 2022.

The 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of February 16, 2022.

Stolen truck in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime early yesterday morning, unknown suspects stole a 2004 red and black Ford F-150 truck from a towing compound on Richmond Street.

The truck was unplated.

Break and enter in Bothwell

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, between Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a storage unit at Safe and Sound Storage on Lambton Line.

Once inside, the suspects stole a portable air conditioner, dishes, sports collectibles, Christmas decorations and a Keurig.

Total value of the theft has been estimated at $2,000.
