Jackie Bilodeau

Jacqueline Marie ‘Jackie’ Bilodeau of Chatham and formerly of Wallaceburg passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the age of 60.

Jackie is the daughter of Ernest & the late Phyllis (Martin) Caron.

Beloved wife of Paul Bilodeau for 38 years.

Cherished mother of Danielle Bilodeau (Dan Farrah) and Michael Bilodeau (Jillian).

Loved sister and sister-in-law of Yvon & Belinda Caron, Gisele & Brian Vitek, Yvette Caron, Luc & Liz Caron, Jacques & the late Kelly Caron, Simon & Marcy Caron, Dominic & Lori Caron and Michael & Sherri Caron.

Daughter-in-law of Marie & the late Gil Bilodeau and Sister-in-law to Linda & John Salisbury and Steve & Cheryl Bilodeau.

Jackie is survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jackie began her 38 year career in the municipality with the Town of Wallaceburg in 1980 (where she met her husband) and continued on during the amalgamation with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent in social housing.

Along the way she made many life-long friends and continued with the “Raleigh Street Gang” dinners even after her recent retirement.

Jackie could often be found digging in her garden, crafting or driving to the Bay for a sunset and an ice cream.

Her favourite times were spent with her very large entourage of family and friends.

Jackie was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

The family would like to thank the “dream team”, VON nurses, “the Commander” Mary Beth Cadotte, and her sister Gisele Vitek, Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Dudley along with all the staff at both the Chatham-Kent and London Health Sciences oncology units.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and limited indoor numbers, a private, invitation only Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jackie’s name to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation – Oncology Fund and may be left at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg 519.627.3231.

Shared stories and tributes may be left on Jackie’s tribute wall at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca.
