Man charged with break and enter in Chatham
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning around 10 a.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious man cutting metal pipes outside a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man and through investigation learned that just before 5 a.m. the man forced his way into Entegrus’ fenced compound on Queen Street and stole four aluminum hydro poles.
The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with break and enter, being in possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions by disobeying his curfew and attending Entegrus property.
He has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
Damage to the fence was estimated at $400.
Total value of the theft was approximately $8,800.
Man charged with failing to comply
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Wheatley.
Through investigation, police learned that the man attended a family member’s home, regardless of being on conditions not to.
The 30-year-old Leamington man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Collisions leads to impaired driving charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, shortly after 6:30 p.m. police responded to a collision in the parking lot of a business on King Street in Chatham, where the man responsible for hitting a parked vehicle, left the scene.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested at his residence.
The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
A 61-year-old Chatham man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released pending a future court date of February 4, 2022.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 11 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Rose Avenue in Tilbury, where the man lost control of his truck, left the roadway and struck a tree and light pole.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.
The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
A 21-year-old Tilbury man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, refusing to provide a suitable sample of his breath and failing to comply with his Probation Order by consuming alcohol.
He was released pending a future court date of February 4, 2022.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around midnight, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Gosnell Line, where the woman lost control of her car, left the roadway, went into the ditch and struck a metal culvert.
Through investigation, police believed the woman was driving while under the influence of alcohol and she was arrested.
The woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent OPP Detachment for breath tests.
A 34-year-old Glencoe woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
She was released pending a future court date of February 4, 2022.
Update: Theft of vehicle in Tilbury
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As previously reported, on Monday around 5 p.m. unknown suspects stole a burgundy 2009 Ford Edge that was left unattended in the Circle K Convenience parking lot.
Yesterday morning, the vehicle was recovered by OPP in Oxford County.
Stolen truck in Florence
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime early yesterday morning, unknown suspects stole a grey 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a residence on Florence Road, just outside of Thamesville.
The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates YF4 121.
