Police looking for the public’s assistance

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for the public’s assistance in regards to a theft of gas from the Ultramar Gas Bar on Mill Street West in Tilbury on Saturday afternoon.

Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday afternoon, police responded to an assault complaint at a rooming house on Fourth Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted another tenant during a verbal argument.

Last night, the 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of February 15, 2022.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Brigden Road between McCreary Line and Langstaff Line.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

The driver responsible for the collision was charged with failing to share the roadway.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Pain Court Line near Winter Line Road.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $1,500.

A 29-year-old Brampton man was charged with disobeying a stop sign.

The driver responsible for the collision was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Traffic stop leads to breach charges in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A traffic stop was initiated by an officer while on general patrol.

The driver had been released on previous charges to be in his residence in Woodstock or with his surety.

The man was violating his release was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters.

The man was charged with failing to comply with a release order and held for a bail hearing.

Disturbance leads to arrest in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Police responded to a disturbance involving family and neighbours in the area of Viceroy Place in Chatham.

When police arrived the situation had calmed down.

One man who had been drinking continued to cause problems.

The man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence and Control Act.

The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters and held until sober.

Warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As a result of a suspicious vehicle complaint, a vehicle stop was conducted and a 26-year-old Ridgetown man was located inside the vehicle.

The man was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

The male was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As a result of a traffic stop, a 17-year-old with a warrant was located in the vehicle.

The male was found to be in possession of a knife in his waistband which he was prohibited from having as per his last release.

He was arrested for failing to comply with his undertaking.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was processed and later released with a court date of March 7, 2022.
