Winter weather travel advisory in effect across Chatham-Kent

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory in Chatham-Kent.

Forecasters say snow, with total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm, is possible by this evening.

“Reduced visibility at times due to heavy snow,” Environment Canada officials said, adding the snow is expected this morning through the evening.

“Snow is expected to dissipate after midnight. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
