Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Real Estate and Corporate Law Clerk for our growing law firm located in Wallaceburg, Ontario.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience work in a law office. Experience in real estate law and/or corporate law is an asset.

The responsibilities for the role of Real Estate and Corporate Law Clerk include:

  • Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client file information;
  • Preparing necessary real estate documentation, opening and closing real estate transactions, communicating with other firms;
  • Preparing necessary corporate documentation for clients, such as updating minute books, incorporations, and share purchase agreements;
  • Maintaining lawyers’ calendars by scheduling appointments, task lists and other arrangements as necessary;
  • Preparing draft correspondence pertaining to various real estate and corporate matters for review, approval, and use by lawyers;
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing file updates;
  • Corresponding and scheduling meetings with clients; and
  • Assisting staff as required.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill. The position allows for working remotely part time.
Expected state date: ImmediatelyQualifications

  • Experience in a similar role (4 years), or Law Clerk diploma;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Able to prioritize, handle different tasks on a daily basis;
  • Outgoing, friendly and a team player;
  • Flexible, and able to accommodate to different situations;
  • Able to work under pressure/stress;
  • Positive demeanor and eager to learn;
  • Takes initiative to provide help or assist others;
  • Able to work with minimal supervision; 
  • Able to take instructions and notes via different sources;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel; and Teraview
  • Basic knowledge of PCLaw; and
  • Basic knowledge of Do Process programs i.e Unity, Will Builder, etc

Hours of Work
