Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning police received information that a man was harassing a woman. The man and woman are known to each other and are former co-workers.

The 58-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of criminal harassment. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of March 4, 2022.

Man charged with stolen vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 9, 2022 police received information a 2002 Brown Ford pick-up truck had been stolen from a Thamesville address.

Early yesterday afternoon the vehicle was observed by police driving on Zone Road 4 in Thamesville.

The officer followed the vehicle for a short period of time until the driver drove the vehicle into a field and fled on foot.

The driver attempted to evade police but was located a short distance away.

The 32-year-old Euphemia Township man was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of driving while suspended and failing to comply with a probation order.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Family dispute leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham.

Through Investigation, police learned a teen in the home was causing a disturbance.

The 17-year-old male youth was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date.

Man charged with stolen vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 4, 2022 a 2017 Ford F-150 was reported stolen from a Wheatley address.

Late yesterday afternoon the vehicle was recovered in the parking lot of an apartment building in Chatham.

With assistance from the Street Crimes Unit a 32-year-old Chatham man was identified as being in possession of the vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and failing to comply with release order.

He was held for bail.
