Police: Possession of stolen property, theft, report crime online

Man charged with possession of stolen property

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 22, 2022, shortly before noon, police responded to a suspicious person walking on Queen Street in Chatham carrying a quick cut saw.

Police located the man and learned the saw had been stolen during a recent break and enter at a nearby address.

The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.

He was released on conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early yesterday evening at approximately 5 p.m. police responded to a theft complaint at a business on Wellington Street West in Chatham.

Police were advised a woman was involved and was provided a description.

Police located the woman a short distance away.

Through investigation it was also learned she was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The 49-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of March 23, 2022.
