TBT: Sheep herding along the Sydenham River in Wilkesport

Throwback Thursday is sponsored by Your Hometown Deli in Wallaceburg:

The Sombra Museum recently posted the above photo of sheep herding in Wilkesport along the banks of the Sydenham River:

Here is what they had to say about the photo:

“It looks like the photo was taken at a fork in the river, which would lead us to guess that the maple grove was at what is now the end of Wilkesport Line, on the east side of Kimball Road, where Black Creek meets the Sydenham River.

Visit Sombra Museum this spring to take in “Grit, Determination, Passion: Farming in Sombra Township”, a celebration of Sombra Township’s agricultural history featuring barn building, tools, working animals and more!”

If you have an old photo, or video, that you would like to see on the Sydenham Current, let us know by sending us an email to sydenhamcurrent@gmail.com.
