Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 37-year-old Wheatley man has been charged with assault after a woman sent photographs of facial injuries to a family member, who contacted police.
Chatham-Kent police responded to an intimate partner violence investigation in Wheatley at approximately 10:03 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving information about injuries sustained by a woman.
Investigators learned the woman had sent the photographs to a family member, prompting the call to police.
As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and later released on an undertaking with conditions, with a future court date of October 5, 2026.
