Domestic incident
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. yesterday evening police responded to a business on Lowe Street in Wallaceburg for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival police learned the man and a woman were engaged in a verbal argument over a vehicle. The situation escalated when the man grabbed the woman and forcefully removed her from the vehicle. The man left the area in the vehicle prior to police arrival. Through investigation it was learned this had not been the first incident of violence.
The 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was located a few hours later. He was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of assault. He was transported to police headquarters and held for bail.
Domestic
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at midnight police responded to a domestic dispute at an address on Pine Street in Chatham.
Upon arrival police learned a physical altercation had occurred between the man and his fiancé.
The 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of assault. He was transported to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2022.
Traffic Enforcement Blitz
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, members of the Community Patrol Branch and the Traffic Unit conducted a traffic enforcement blitz at Base Line, Wallaceburg; North Street, Dresden; Fairview Line, Harwich Township, Kent Bridge Road, Kent Bridge, Wells Street, Howard Township; Orangewood Boulevard, Chatham and Indian Creek Road, Chatham. In some areas the Light Detection and Ranging device (LIDAR) was utilized.
A total of 11 Provincial Offence notices were issued.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service reminds motorists to obey the speeding limits and road signs. Speed is almost always a significant factor in collisions with serious and fatal injuries. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Make it a priority when you drive.
