A special weather statement has been issued in Chatham-Kent, as isolated strong wind gusts associated with thunderstorms are expected later today.
“Isolated thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area late this afternoon through early this evening,” forecasters say.
“While the thunderstorms are not expected to be particularly strong, isolated wind gusts up to 70 or 80 km/h will be possible.”
Local power outages may occur as well as some damage to tree branches, forecasters added.
