Gymnastics has returned to Wallaceburg

Gymnastics has returned to Wallaceburg.

Officials with the Dragons ELITE Gymnastics and Cheer Club say they are also re-grouping and raising funds.

“We used to operate as the Wallaceburg Flying W’s Gymnastics club for over 30 years,” said Rachel Goodreau, a volunteer with the club.

“Last summer we were forced to close due to financial challenges from COVID restrictions and lockdowns. We have reopened the club in Wallaceburg and are getting back on our feet.”

Club officials say while they are actively running daily classes and grant writing, they are also planning some fundraising events.

“Our first event will be held on site, Saturday, May 14, 2022,” club officials say.

“We will be hosting ATV run as well as a Fish Fry and raffle. We are hoping to acquire some additional support by accepting donations in the form of auction items (products or services) or monetary donations are of course accepted as well.”

Details about the fundraiser can be seen, below:

Goodreau said the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club recently provided the club with a $4,000 donation to provide a kick start.
