WAMBO announces details for 2022 event

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) have announced details about their upcoming 2022 event.

Organizers said on social media the event will return to the second weekend in August, with the festivities taking place August 12, 13 and 14, 2022.

“We can’t wait to get together and celebrate WAMBO, which is truly Wallaceburg’s ‘homecoming’ event,” Bill Wolsing, the chair of the event, said on social media.

“It will be great to see the smiling faces once again.”

Wolsing added the volunteer committee “is excited to bring their customary event to the community” after a one year cancellation in 2020 and a scaled-down event in 2021.

Wolsing said the free main stage musical entertainment is locked in and ready to rock downtown Wallaceburg:

– Friday, August 12, 2022: Ray Whaling Band – 7 p.m.

– Saturday, August 13, 2022: Leave Those Kids Alone – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

– Saturday, August 13, 2022: Dreamer “The Supertramp Experience” – 7 p.m.

Organizers say activities confirmed to take place, include: The Terry Glover Memorial Cruise on Friday evening, Saturday’s classic car show, motorcycle displays, boats in the Sydenham River, fire truck display, lawn tractor pull on Saturday, karaoke, vendors throughout the downtown core, soap box races and a refreshment tent in the downtown parking lot.

WAMBO officials say more details are being worked out for other activities and events, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Organizers are encouraging people to follow WAMBO on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
