Barry John Van Landeghem

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a loving husband, father and Pappa.

Barry John Van Landeghem passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Beloved husband of 57 years to Elanor (Johnston) Van Landeghem.

Beloved son of the late John and Edna (Denning) Van Landeghem.

Barry is survived by his son Randy (Tracy Barclay) Van Landeghem, and granddaughters Sarandon, Jamie and puppy Muddy, his son Lee (Lynnette) Van Landeghem and grandsons Taylor, Ty and Tate.

Also survived by special Aunt Donna (Jim) Barnes, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Dolores (Larry Pettit) Kirk, Janet (Ken) Wade, Linda (Ralph) Belanger, Andy Johnston, Dan (Diane) Johnston and Tony Johnston predeceased.

Barry will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. They will have many memories to share about their Uncle Barry. As well as his many close friends and co-workers who will have so very many memories to share. There will be much laughter among the tears.

Barry’s grandchildren could always count on getting “The Claw” when they visited. He spent his working years as a Millwright/Machinist/Tool & Die Maker which he retired from fourteen years ago.

We wish to thank all those who tended to Barry during his long illness; Dr. Saxena, Dr. Jain and Nurse Lauren at Westmount Kidney Clinic as well as Dr. John and all the staff at the D6-200 Nephrology Ward at Victoria Hospital in London during his last days. We also wish to thank Ron & Wendy Denning for their very special gift.

The late Barry Van Landeghem rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg.

Cremation has taken place.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton at 11 a.m.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
