Police: Impaired driving, domestic assault, e-bikes stolen

Man arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 7:23 p.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Pinehurst Line in Harwich Township.

Through investigation police learned the vehicle had left the roadway and landed in a ditch.

Police believed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 34-year-old Emeryville man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date of June 22, 2022.

Man and woman arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly before 8 p.m. police responded to a neighbour dispute on Queen Street in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation police learned a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument with their neighbours.

The argument escalated and turned into a physical altercation.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman and a 24-year-old Wallaceburg man were both arrested and charged with one count of assault.

They were transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of June 15, 2022.

Man and woman arrested for domestic assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:13 p.m. police responded to a domestic disturbance on Eberts Line in Chatham Township.

Police arrived shortly after and located the man.

Policed learned the woman left prior to their arrival.

Through investigation police learned a physical altercation occurred between the man and the woman.

As a result of the investigation a 33-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were both arrested and charged with one count of assault.

They were later released with conditions and future court dates.

Man arrested for possession of stolen property

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 15, 2022 police began investigating a complaint the man was in possession of stolen e-bikes.

Police also learned the man was placed on conditions by the court to not associate with specific people.

Through investigation police located the stolen e-bikes and learned the man had breached his probation order by associating with one of the people listed in his release conditions.

The 58-year-old man was located, arrested, and charged with possession of stolen property and failing to comply with Probation Order.

He was transported to police headquarters and later released on conditions and a future court date of June 29, 2022.
