Police: Another arrest in targeted Enniskillen shooting, warrants executed in C-K, impaired driving

Second arrest made in targeted shooting

Lambton OPP officials allege: Members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have arrested a second individual in connection with a homicide in Enniskillen Township.

The incident happened at a rural parking lot on Marthaville Road on April 14, 2022. Investigators have determined Andrew Chute was shot in a targeted incident.

On May 31, 2022, the OPP arrested James Armstrong, 43-years-old of Sarnia, for First Degree Murder pursuant to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code and Conspiracy to Commit Murder, pursuant to section 465(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused has been remanded in custody following a court appearance on June 1, 2022.

Another 43-year old Sarnia resident is already before the courts on a First Degree Murder charge after being arrested April 29, 2022.

The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

Man arrested on DNA warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 1 p.m., police located a man on Lacroix Street in Chatham who was wanted on a DNA warrant.

The 52-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was later released unconditionally.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 7:10 p.m., police located a man on Fifth Street in Chatham who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of June 29, 2022.

Man arrested on multiple warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 10:08 p.m., police located a man on Henry Street in Wallaceburg who was wanted on multiple warrants.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on an outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 11:16 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Dover Street in Chatham.

Police attended and located a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for robbery.

The 31-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 5 a.m. this morning, police responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Police located a 22-year-old Chatham-Kent woman intoxicated and unable to care for herself.

The woman was transported to police headquarters and held until she was sober.

Impaired driving

Lambton OPP officials allege: On May 28, 2022 at 7:30 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a parked, running vehicle on Blackthorn Crescent.

The driver appeared to be sleeping behind the wheel.

Upon speaking with a driver it became apparent they had consumed an alcoholic beverage, at which time a roadside screening device was administered.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Lambton County OPP detachment where they provided two samples over the legal limit.

A 44-year-old Wallaceburg woman, has been charged with the following:

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
