Woman arrested for weapon offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 13, 2022 at 8:27 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on a man seen walking on Scane Street in Chatham with a wounded arm.

A description of the man was provided to the police.

The man accompanied by the woman was located and questioned.

The man falsely identified himself to the police.

Through investigation, his identity and his release conditions not to communicate with the woman were confirmed.

It was also determined the woman had caused the man’s injury.

The man refused medical attention.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with the release order and obstructing a police officer.

He was transported to police headquarters and held for bail.

The 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach of a release order, assault with a weapon, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

She was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of July 7, 2022.

Woman arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 13, at 9:09 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a business on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police were advised the woman was trespassed from the business previously.

When an employee asked the woman to leave, she became angry and spat at the employee, striking the employee in the face and arm.

The woman left the business before police arrived.

The 30-year-old Walpole Island woman was located, arrested and charged with assault.

She was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of July 15, 2022.
