Man charged after threats reported at Chatham bank

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 39-year-old Chatham man is facing a charge after an alleged threats incident at a financial institution.

Police say officers responded April 6, 2026, at approximately 10:52 a.m. to a bank on Lacroix Street.

Investigators say the accused was asked to leave by staff and another individual known to him. Police allege he became confrontational and threatened to harm the victim as he exited.

Officers later located and arrested the man on Wellington Street West.

He was charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and released with conditions and a future court date.
