Lambton OPP officials allege: On June 22, 2022 shortly before 5 a.m., members of Walpole Island Police Service and Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded, along with Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Service and Walpole Island Fire Department, to the report of two cyclists that had been struck by a vehicle on River Road.
The cyclists have been pronounced deceased.
The driver has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.
River Road is currently closed for the investigation between Firehall Road and Austin Road.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
