Update: Tips sought after a body was found following a fire in Chatham

The investigation is on-going after a body was found after a fire in Chatham on Saturday.

However, no new details have been released by the authorities.

“On the 25th of June 2022 at approximately 3:50 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Fire attended Edgar Street in Chatham for a residential fire,” Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers officials said in a media release.

“Upon extinguishing the fire, a deceased person was located inside the residence. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Major Crime Section are currently working with Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office to determine the cause of the fire.”
