Canada Day closures in C-K and at CKHA

Municipal offices and most services will be closed Friday, July 1 in recognition of Canada Day.

Other services are scheduled as follows:

Cemetery Operations: Cemeteries staff will be available on call for funeral homes that need at-need lot sales or internment orders.

RIDE CK: All Ride CK Transit services will not operate Friday, July 1.

Emergency Services: Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialing “911” for emergency calls only. The Fire Administration office will be closed on Friday, July 1, re-opening on Monday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m.

Arts and Culture: Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Ridge House Museum, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace, will be closed Friday, July 1. The Milner House will be open 11-4.

Entegrus and Public Utilities Commission: Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed. The emergency call number is 519-352-6300.

The office of Fleet Services (PABC) will be closed Friday, July 1.

Health and Family Services Building: The Health and Family Services building will be closed Friday, July 1, including the offices of Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Child Care and Early Years, and Public Health.

Emergency Rapid Rehousing Program: During the evening, on weekends, and holidays, please call the after-hours Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 for homeless emergencies within Chatham-Kent. This number is available 24/7.

EarlyON: All EarlyON programs are closed Friday, July 1.

Libraries: All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed Friday, July 1.

Public Health King Street: Public Health King Street, located at 177 King St. E., Chatham will be closed Friday, July 1. Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

Provincial Offences Court: The Provincial Offences Court will be closed Friday, July 1. Please note that during office closures fines can continue to be paid online at www.paytickets.ca

Pools – Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will be open Friday, July 1 for a Free Rec Swim from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m., all other programming is cancelled. All outdoor pools will be closed on July 1. Please visit www.chatham-kent.ca/recreationswimming for more information.

Arenas: All arenas are closed Friday, July 1.

Riverview Gardens: Reception and administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 1. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

Waste and Recycling: Friday, July 1 waste collection will be delayed by one day. Refer to the 2022 Waste and Recycling Collection Guide for details.

Transfer Stations: The Harwich and Wallaceburg Transfer Stations will be closed Friday, July 1. All other transfer stations will be open during regular hours.

Leaf and Yard Depots: All Leaf and Yard Depots will be closed Friday, July 1.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance services will be Altered for Canada Day as well.

Hospital officials say during the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. These departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Ambulatory Care Services, Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD Clinics, Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022. The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022. For any immediate crisis, please call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit your nearest Emergency Room.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on Friday, July 1, 2022. Please note there are two bill changers in the building to accommodate change for coin.

Hemodialysis Care will be open on Friday, July 1, 2022.

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre, located at the 10 Grand Avenue plaza in Chatham will be closed on July 1, 2022.

The Emergency Departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will remain open 24 hours daily.
