Man arrested for domestic offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 7:42 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Baldoon Road in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned the man had been released by the court on March 17, 2022, with conditions not to communicate with the woman.
The man contacted the woman, engaged in a verbal argument with her over the phone, and told her he would be arriving at her location.
The 29-year-old Dover Township man was located and arrested for failing to comply with a release order, uttering threats, criminal harassment, and an outstanding warrant for a previous incident.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for impaired driving
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, at 1:24 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Alexandra Avenue in Chatham when the vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.
When stopped, police believed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.
The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.
The 18-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He has been released with conditions pending a future court date of July 12, 2022.
Road closure
The Chatham-Kent Police Service are asking motorists to avoid Victoria Road, between Block Road and Fysh Line in Thamesville as crews attend to a overturned transport truck.
