Two weeks remaining for Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, prize approaching $50,000

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundationā€™s (CKHAF) Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser is heating up.

With two weeks to go before the draw on July 13, CKHAF is calling on the community to help ignite healthcare like never before in support of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

This yearā€™s 50/50 has currently raised a total of nearly $100,000, with a winning jackpot approaching $50,000 and growing fast.

Organizers say as is know from previous years, tickets will sell fast and the jackpot will grow significantly in the next two weeks, so the lucky winner is sure to take home a life-changing payout when the winning ticket is drawn on Wednesday, July 13 at 1 p.m.

“Chatham-Kent has once again come out strong in support of the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, making it a great success thus far,” says Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of CKHAF, in a media release.

“With the help of our amazing community, we can finish this campaign stronger than weā€™ve ever finished before, enabling the purchase of life-saving equipment for our local hospital sites. With a jackpot nearing $50,000 and still two weeks left to go, thereā€™s no limit to how high the jackpot can grow! Get your tickets today and you could be the lucky winner.”

Organizer say proceeds from this fundraiser will support the purchase of two new Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) units for CKHA; one for each of the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.

PFT units are noninvasive diagnostic testing units that show how well the lungs are working, and they have been identified as a high priority need for replacement at CKHA.

“PFT units are critical pieces of equipment as they provide a safe and quick way to diagnose a wide variety of respiratory illnesses,” stated Bob Hockney, Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors, in a media release.

“Patients at CKHAā€™s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will benefit greatly from this ongoing fundraising effort. In the process, someoneā€™s life is going to change for the better when we draw the winning ticket on July 13th.”

The MCH family of companies, which includes Maple City Homes, MCH Realty Group, AgriRoots Capital Management Inc., and FamilyLending.ca Inc., has partnered with the Foundation as a sponsor of this fundraiser for the fourth consecutive year.

The Foundation will continue to be out in all corners of Chatham-Kent throughout the remaining weeks of the campaign, with in-person ticket sales planned at locations across the community.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Foundation office, located at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, and are available for purchase online at www.ignite5050.ca.

Ticket sales will close on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 12 pm.

Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age.
