Man arrested for theft and mischief
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 12, 2022, at 8:07 a.m., police responded to a theft and mischief complaint at a car wash on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Through surveillance video footage, police learned the man dumped garbage in a bay, broke into an e-bike carrier, and took the charger.
The man was identified and located sometime later.
The 20-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with theft, possession of the stolen property, and two counts of mischief.
He was released with a future court date.
Man arrested for domestic and drug offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 8:24 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Murray Street in Chatham.
Police learned the man was observed striking a woman in the face and pulling her by her arm.
The man attempted to flee the area before police arrived.
A description of the man and his direction of travel was provided to the police.
The woman and the man were located a short distance away, and the man was arrested.
Through investigation, police learned the man was on condition not to communicate with the woman on two release orders.
Upon arrest, the man was found possessing methamphetamine.
The 45-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with assault, failing to comply with a release order, failing to comply with an undertaking and possession of a controlled substance.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
