Sarnia Police Service officials allege on July 18, 2022, just prior to 12 p.m., a bomb threat was reported at Lambton College.
“The scene was secured and individuals inside Lambton College and Progressive Auto Sales Arena were instructed to shelter in place,” police officials said in a media release, adding an emergency notice was sent to cell phones in the area via myCNN.
“At approximately 1:38p.m., the threat was determined to be unfounded and the shelter in place was lifted. An ‘all-clear’ has also been issued via myCNN.”
The investigation into this false threat continues at this time, Sarnia Police Service officials added.
The Sarnia Police Service is asking anyone with information on this matter to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 519-344-8861 ext. 5300.
College officials say the lock down at Lambton College has been lifted.
“Sarnia Police have completed a full sweep of the South Building and concluded there is no threat to those on campus,” Lambton College officials said on social media.
“Our day camps have been cleared to continue with their activities for the remainder of the day. Parents are able to pick up their children at the regular location at this time, or allow them to continue with their scheduled camp activities.”
