This Saturday, August 13, 2022 the Wallaceburg and District Museum will be hosting an event in recognition of the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their funding and support.

It will start at 10 a.m.

The President of Wallaceburg Museum, Henry Van Haren, will be outlining future plans for the $50,000 grant.

“The Wallaceburg and District Museum has been and will continue to be a prominent fixture in the south side neighborhood of Wallaceburg,” said Van Haren.

The grant will allow the museum to upgrade computer hardware and make several renovations to the outside parkette.

“With our staff and volunteers, our community’s help, and support from the Trillium fund over our many years here, our facility has continued to improve and grow to preserve and share the amazing history of this community,” said Van Haren.

Alongside Van Haren at the event will be Ontario Trillium Fund representative, Fannie Vavoulis, and Municipal Councillors Aaron Hall and Carmen McGregor.

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton issued a statement on the grant, stating: “The Wallaceburg and District Museum is a treasure that deserves to be much better known. I am happy to applaud and congratulate any steps to help that. I also wish to recognize and thank all those who worked in the grant application process.”

The Ontario Trillium Fund is an agency of the Government of Ontario that focuses on community development.

Last year, they donated a total of $209 million across 2,042 community projects.
