One new COVID-19 death reported in Chatham-Kent

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit provided the latest COVID-19 statistics in the community on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

One new death was reported.

A total of 86 Chatham-Kent residents have died from the virus since the pandemic began in March of 2020, public health officials say.

CK Public Health officials say 115 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday, increasing the total number of cases to 9,299 since the pandemic began.

The current seven day rolling average case count (average number per day) is at 16.

Four outbreaks are active across Chatham-Kent, including an outbreak at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg. A total of 25 positive cases are linked to the outbreak at the Wallaceburg long-term care home, which was declared on July 25, 2022.

A total of 43 cases are linked to an outbreak at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, which was declared on August 8, 2022.

A total of 232,734 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to date, 85,176 people 5+ have received at least one dose, 82,378 people 5+ have received two doses and 51,238 people 5+ have received three doses.

CK Public Health officials say as of the week of May 1 the Chatham-Kent COVID-19 Surveillance Report will be updated once per week on Wednesdays by 11 a.m.
