Countryview Line and Center Side Road intersection to be closed for construction

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has secured a contractor (Clarke Construction) for the replacement of the Countryview Line Culvert over the Purdie Creek Drain, which is at the intersection of Countryview Line and Center Side Road, in the Community of Chatham Township.

Commencing Wednesday, August 31, 2022 (subject to weather), the intersection of Countryview Line and Center Side Road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

It is anticipated that the project will be completed by approximately November 4, 2022.

“Chatham-Kent is committed to working with Clarke Construction to maintain a safe and orderly worksite,” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“All efforts will be made to reduce the impact on the surrounding areas. Construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be taken by adhering to the safety requirements and to stay outside of the construction zones.”

A detour will be posted to direct traffic around the site, which includes: Prince Albert Road, Longwoods Road, Kent Bridge Road, Base Line and Union Line, Municipal officials added.
