The Chatham Golden Eagles are the U15 Eastern Canadian Fastpitch gold medalists.
The squad captured the championship on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in Portugal Cove, Newfoundland, beating the Stratford Stealers, from Prince Edward Island, in the gold medal game by a score of 7-5.
The Golden Eagles finished 3-2 in round robin play, before topping the Stealers 6-0 earlier on Sunday to advance directly to the finals.
Published reports indicate the Golden Eagles are the first Eastern Canadian champions hailing from the Chatham Girls Minor Softball Association.
The team qualified for the tournament after capturing gold in the PWSA Tier 2 Provincial Grand Championship earlier this month.
The team consists of: Catie Dawson of Wallaceburg, Abi Coffin of Dresden, Addison Dodman, Jaelyn Devine, Kamryn Hazell, Kendle Adams, Mya Delaet, Norrah Leveille, Elexis Wauthier, Sydney Nisbet, Sommer Dalgety, and Sydney Ahearn.
